House Feldberg-Falkau
Welcome to your family vacation home in the Black Forest!

Crystal-clear air and lush greenery – a vacation in the Black Forest is a blessing for body, mind and soul. Here you can still find the rural idyll with unspoilt farms, flowering meadows and grazing cows.

In the middle of this picturesque landscape, not far from the Feldberg at an altitude of 1,050 meters, you will find the Haus Feldberg-Falkau. In our light-flooded house, you can enjoy the sound of silence and a wonderful panoramic view in a unique way.

Here you can relax, switch off and take a deep breath. And enjoy the unique nature and charming places in the region with a variety of sports and excursion options.

Distance to next train station „Altglashütte“ is 3 km.

Distance to Freiburg city is 40 km / approx. 40 min by car.

 

Inside

The facts:

  • Two houses, one church
  • Elevators
  • 48 Rooms with 108 beds
  • Double rooms with 2 beds (for parents) with a door to another room (e.g. for childeren) with 2 to 4 bunkbeds.
  • All rooms, except the rooms unter the roof, with terrace or balcony.
  • No TV in the rooms.
  • Pets are NOT allowed!
  • WLAN

Pictures below show a room with 2 beds and their bathroom and the linked room (via an extra door which can be locked if not needed)  with 4 bunkbeds in the basement (terrace) also having their own bathroom. So every room has their own bathroom. Note that the majority of the double rooms with two beds as shown below:

Services

Full board meal (Voll Pension) is always included and served as buffet:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch (warm) – Lunch is offered as a three-course buffet.
  • Dinner – Dinner is offered as a cold snack buffet with a warm supplement (Maultaschen or potato wedges or pizza slices etc.)

In case you are out of house for lunch you can order a lunch box or take more from the breakfast. No cost reduction if you don’t take a meal.

Usually the serve 70% normal food incl. meat and  30% vegtarian. Extras like vegan are possible.

Kindergarden during the day for children from 3 to 14 years old at NO extra cost.

Room cleaning not every day but on request and at least once per week.

  • „Schwarzwaldhaus der Sinne“ house of the senses for kids
  • Adventure golf park
  • Climbing
  • Cuckoo clocks in Triberg, small and the largest of the world (approx. one hour drive by car)
  • Bikes and e-bikes rental at Titisee

Health and others

There is a normal doctor near by and a hospital Helios Klinik in the city called Titsee-Neustadt on 14 km distance / approx. 17 min by car.

There is a „Lidl“ supermarked in 4 km distance / 7 min by car.

Further shops are in the village Titisee.

 

Prices / Costs (from 2024)

Minimum booking is 1 week from Saturday to Saturday during the German school holidays timeframe. Outside the German school holidays other dates are possible. The intention is to book one of the two houses with / for our family. Please consider that the prices might be a bit higher in one or two years. The prices take the group discount already into account.

Room cost for families (parents with childreen on their payroll tax card) including breakfast, lunch and dinner, per day:

  • Adultes (17 years or older) each: 68,50 Euro
  • Youngsters (10 to 16 years old) each: 43,50 Euro
  • Children (3 to 10 years old) each: 37,00 Euro
  • Free of charge for all under 3 years old

 

Room cost for adults w/o children on their income tax card including breakfast, lunch and dinner, per day:

  • Adultes (17 years or older) each: 80,00 Euro
  • Using a double room as a single room:  16 Euro in addition to above price

Community room cost, per day (will share costs)

  • Room for 60 persons called „Herzogenhorn / Belchen“: 90 Euro

 

Vistors tax (Kurtaxe), per day:

  • Adultes (16 years or older) 2,90 Euro
  • Youngsters (10 to 15 years old) each: 1,20  Euro

Note that by paying the visitors tax (and you have to pay it) you will get the „KONUS““ guest card which allows you to use all the public transport for free and there is reduced entrance fee for some sttractions.

Remark: We face an issue here as this date is outside of Candian school holidays so may exclude some of the family members which we shold not do. 
Also there are w few room less available compared to the other dates.

Open Questions

  • Cost of a double room (2 beds) occupied by one single person
    • AW: The single room supplement is 16,00 Euro
  • In case of linked doors between two room, can we lock it to ensure privacy?
    • AW: Yes!
  • A Family with students do all get the reduced adult price for the room(s)?
    • AW: As long as the children are still on the income tax card, the family rates apply.
  • Is „Halb Pension“ so only take breakfast and dinner possible?
    • AW: They offer the options:

      • Overnight stay & breakfast

      • Overnight stay & breakfast & dinner

      • Overnight stay & breakfast & lunch & dinner = German „Vollpension (VP) <- decided to take this option!

        Remark: This would be my recommended choice as the 3 courses lunch buffet was looking great!

  • What happens, when I skip a meal?
    • AW: You will not get money back if you skip a meal. However, in case you ordered lunch but you want to you skip it,  you can order a lunch package which you can take with you or take something from the breakfast with you.
  • How many rooms are available?
    • AW: Based on the types of rooms / combinations we have currently available:

      • 30.8. bis 6.08.2025 A:22, B: 5, C: 1, D 5, E:6

      • 1.08. bis 8.08.2026 A: 23, B: 5, C: 1, D: 6, E: 6  <- we decided for this date!

      • 8.08. bis 15.08.2026 A: 23, B: 5, C: 1, D: 6, E: 6

      • Note that type D or E  requires to book an additional type A to make it complete 

  • How is the conference room equipped?
    • We can get as much as we need of chairs and desks
    • A clipboard is available
  • Arrival time?
    • 4 pm but ensure that you are latest at 6 pm for the dinner at the location
  • Departure time
    • After lunch at the last day
    • Rooms need to be freed at 9:30 at the last day
  • Who will pay the conference room?
    • We decided that the relatives from outside of Germany don’t need to pay for the conference room.
    • The current split is (1 day = 90 Euro):
      • Henning paying for 2 days
      • Jürgen payes 1 day
      • Thomas payes 1 day
      • Elena / Morans pay for 2 days
      • Robin pays for 1 day
